Reflecting on the shamanistic meaning of birthdays.
Episode 10 of Ghost Story Note 2, which airs at 11:40 p.m. on the 4th, introduces the story of a female student who had to live in fear whenever her birthday came around.
A client who, when celebrating her birthday, was always followed by incidents and accidents and only wished to live quietly.
That day she tried to keep a low profile, but she had no choice when a close friend urgently called her and went to the friend's house, and when she tried to blow out the birthday candles on the cake prepared as a surprise by the friend, the candles went out on their own, so she gave up on extinguishing the cake's flames and finished the birthday party.
That night, the client, who fell asleep with a friend, experienced sleep paralysis and thought it was bearable compared with the harsh birthdays she had endured, but she slipped in a bathroom with not a drop of water and injured her tailbone, forcing her to be hospitalized for a while.
In the end, she confided in her friend about the story of her birthday and continued consultations with a shaman.
The shaman suspected the solar calendar birthday and recommended the lunar calendar birthday, and afterward she was able to spend her birthdays without any trouble, the client said.
Lee Sang-min said, "There are probably many people who experience these kinds of things on their birthdays," and "About 10 years ago I started switching from the lunar calendar birthday to the solar calendar birthday," adding, "Looking back, it oddly coincides with the time I returned to broadcasting," expressing surprise.
The shaman also said, "I once consulted my mother-in-law because bad things kept happening to me on my birthday," and "When I switched to observing my birthday by the lunar calendar, I became fine," sharing the shaman's own story.
Lee Sang-min said, "Things definitely happened to me every birthday when I was young," saying it gave him chills as he shared his story, and he recommended shamanistic meanings related to birthdays and foods that should be eaten on them.
