The wife of broadcaster Lee Hwi-jae, Moon Jeong-won, updated her whereabouts on social media for the first time in four years, and a close associate who used to communicate closely with the couple shared the news.
On the 4th, a close associate of the couple Lee Hwi-jae and Moon Jeong-won told OSEN, "The most recent contact was at the end of February, Moon Jeong-won's birthday. At that time I contacted her to wish her a happy birthday and asked how the twins were doing. I was told they are working out hard and doing well."
The associate added about the couple's current situation, "They are still in Canada. I don't know whether they recently came to Korea and left."
Earlier on the 3rd, Moon Jeong-won posted on her personal social media a caption reading "It's already March, 2026" along with photos and videos. It drew attention because it was an upload for the first time in four years after she deleted all previous posts and halted activity in August 2022.
The released photos showed daily life in Canada with the twins. The noticeably grown twins became a topic of conversation, and by revealing their recent status after a long absence, questions arose about whether they might soon return.
However, the associate who exchanged messages two weeks ago said there were no signs of that at the time. When asked whether there had been any talk about a return, the associate drew a line, saying, "We didn't talk about that separately. It ended with just exchanging birthday greetings."
Meanwhile, Lee Hwi-jae and Moon Jeong-won married in 2010 and welcomed twin sons Seo-eon and Seo-jun in 2013. They later appeared as original cast members of KBS2's The Return of SUPERMAN and received much love, and Lee Hwi-jae won the grand prize at the 2015 KBS Entertainment Awards.
However, various controversies followed, and the couple eventually cleared their social media and YouTube channels and left for Canada in 2022. Lee Hwi-jae's last program was the MBN variety show Battle in the Box, which ended in January 2022. Except for a brief return to Korea due to his mother's death, there has been no official activity. Although retirement rumors circulated, a close associate drew a line, saying, "It is not retirement."
