Actor Kim Yong-gun mentioned his late-born son and shared an update.
On the Feb. 2 broadcast of TV CHOSUN's 'The charmer of Joseon,' Hwang Bo-ra was shown spending daily life with her father-in-law Kim Yong-gun and son Kim Woo-in.
That day Kim Yong-gun tried to call his grandson Woo-in's name but brought up his late-born son's name. He said, "It's ironic, the little kid's name is Zion," and "Because he's a bit older, it's not that I watch over him but that he follows me around."
He went on to speak about his youngest son, "I always keep an eye on him and follow him so he doesn't go to dangerous places. (On the other hand) Woo-in has to stick close all the time," and added, "My son is already 6 years old." Hearing this, Hwang Bo-ra said, "These days I'm busy raising the youngest. My father even went to a kids' cafe."
Hwang Bo-ra also said she plans to take her 19-month-old son to a sledding hill, saying, "My father said he'll take Woo-in to the sledding hill before winter is over. He came as a one-day aunt."
In particular, Kim Yong-gun recently visited a large shopping mall with his son. Hwang Bo-ra said, "It's a time that happens only once for the baby. They go to make memories," and added, "He runs up saying 'Daddy.' The father mustered up courage... for the baby. It's moving."
Kim Yong-gun said, "Zion is much older now and does everything on his own. He chooses what to play and what not to play," and Hwang Bo-ra said, "I was hesitant to bring up Zion to my father," adding that they now continue conversations naturally.
Meanwhile, in Aug. 2021 Kim Yong-gun shocked the public when he was embroiled in an extramarital pregnancy scandal involving a 39-year-younger girlfriend he had been seeing for 13 years. Afterward, Kim Yong-gun confirmed paternity through DNA testing, registered his late-born son on the family register, and has been sharing updates through various broadcasts.
