'Jim CARRY,' a comic actor famous for 'The Mask,' denied speculation that he had been 'cloned' after his changed appearance made him unrecognizable.
On the 2nd (local time), Page Six reported that Jim CARRY had to dismiss claims that his 'clone' attended the César Awards. This came after critics mentioned Jim CARRY's 'almost indistinguishable' appearance.
Jim CARRY's spokesperson Marlee Leslie told Page Six that Jim CARRY attended the César Awards and received an honorary César award.
Gregory Colliède, the ceremony's executive director, also dismissed the double theory and called Jim CARRY's rare outing a "historic moment." Jim CARRY's attendance at the ceremony was reported to have been planned since last summer. They discussed his attendance over eight months, and Jim CARRY prepared his French speech for several months.
Colliède said, "(Jim CARRY) came with his partner, daughter, grandson, and 12 close friends and family." At this ceremony, Jim CARRY was joined by his longtime publicist and longtime friend and director Michel Gondry, with whom he made two films.
Jim CARRY earlier attended the 51st César Awards in Paris on Friday and received a lifetime achievement award. After the ceremony was made public, netizens reacted, "You won't be able to convince me they didn't clone Jim CARRY," and "Jim CARRY was cloned years ago," while others said, "I don't understand why people think that's not Jim CARRY. It's just a botched plastic surgery."
Jim CARRY appeared in films such as 'The Mask' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,' and briefly paused acting in the late 2010s. He later reversed his retirement and returned in the 2024 film 'Sonic the Hedgehog.'
