The Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand captures both excitement and relatable realism.
Boyfriend on Demand, which will be released on Fri., March 6, is a romantic comedy about a webtoon producer, Mi-rae (Jisoo), who is tired of real life and subscribes to and experiences romance through a virtual dating simulation, realizing her romantic fantasies. The series title and the in-show virtual dating subscription service, "Boyfriend on Demand," brings the dreamed romance to life right before her eyes. The unique premise of a "subscription to romance in a virtual world" delivers thrilling excitement, while the ordinary daily life of office worker Mi-rae in the real world offers empathy.
The revealed photos of Mi-rae's virtual date "preview" raise the dopamine level. When Mi-rae first enters the virtual world, she faces the "Boyfriend on Demand" themes spread out before her. Once the date finally begins, truly heart-fluttering moments follow. The moments when she is pressed close to the first love she had dreamed of, and the glamorous moments like a romance fantasy webtoon, make the heart race.
