Comedian Kim Yong's heartbreaking story was revealed.
Recently, the channel "Special Scoop - That Person" uploaded a video titled "Comedian Kim Yong's shocking confession - 13 years trapped in trauma."
The 57-year-old Kim Yong said that until two years ago he drank nonstop and lived intoxicated all day. He spent his brilliant youth and then, during a long hiatus, lived going back and forth between Jeju Island and Seoul. After business failures he suffered from depression, panic disorder, social withdrawal, and bipolar disorder, enduring a time of pain.
Scenes of Kim Yong visiting the columbarium of the late Choi Jin-young and sobbing were also revealed. Kim Yong said, "I'm sorry. I came after 13 years. I'm thankful and sorry. And I'm sorry I couldn't protect you at the end," expressing his remorse throughout. He added, "I brought you a gift," and honored the deceased's spirit with a framed photo they had taken together.
Having met as senior and junior in the military and maintained a close relationship, Choi Jin-young and Kim Yong were said to be the ones who listened to each other's worries the most. Kim Yong recalled, "When he met me he seemed happy. If I got into trouble, I would call him. He was mature and like an older brother. It felt like half of me had collapsed."
The reason he couldn't find the columbarium of the deceased, with whom he had shared such deep friendship, for 13 years was trauma. He said, "It was past midnight when Choi Jin-young's name came up on my phone. I felt uneasy. He always sounded confident on the phone, but he said, 'Hyung, I'll get a taxi and come now,' and then he came. He came and said, 'Hyung, can you make me laugh a little?' I said, 'What are you talking about? Have I ever failed to make you laugh?' even though I felt strange. Jin-young giggled and laughed. He said, 'Thank you, hyung,' and I said, 'What are you thanking me for between you and me,' and then Jin-young said he was going to the bathroom and went out," he said. That was the deceased's last sight. The next day he learned of the tragic news.
Kim Yong said, "I felt it was my fault. Comedian Yang Jong-cheol also drank with me for the last time and had an accident the next day. I can't forget the look in their eyes. A guilt that is not quite guilt overwhelmed me. I don't think there are many people like me on this planet," he said painfully. Yang Jong-cheol died in a traffic accident in 2001.
