Actor Cheon Yeong-min, who landed his first leading role in his life, is set to play a key player in TV CHOSUN's new weekend miniseries "Doctor Shin."
TV CHOSUN's new weekend miniseries "Doctor Shin," which is scheduled to premiere on Saturday the 14th at 10:30 p.m. (written by Phoebe (Phoebe, Im Seong-han)/directed by Lee Seung-hoon/produced by Scene & Studio, TM Group), is a medical thriller about a genius doctor who challenges the realm of God and a woman whose brain is damaged overnight and who gradually loses her soul.
Doctor Shin is drawing attention as the first medical thriller written by writer Phoebe, who has repeatedly shaken the K-drama world with imagination that surpasses expectations. In addition, director Lee Seung-hoon, who directed Love (ft. Marriage & Divorce), has joined, raising expectations.
In Doctor Shin, Cheon Yeong-min plays Kim Jin-joo, the stylist of Momo (played by Baek Seora). In the drama, Kim Jin-joo, like Geum Ba-ra (played by Joo Se bin), grew up in the Noir Foundation orphanage and is very resourceful, but she is timid and intimidated in many ways. Cheon Yeong-min, who has shown diverse acting in the drama The Good Detective, The Devil Judge, Night Has Come, and the film The Morning of the World, heightens expectations for how he will portray Kim Jin-joo, who faces a whirlwind fate.
In this regard, a scene showing Cheon Yeong-min's perfect embodiment of the character was captured. While dressing Momo in the drama, Cheon Yeong-min delicately expressed Kim Jin-joo's feelings of embarrassment and surprise at a remark Momo made. He also fully conveyed Kim Jin-joo's timid personality even in moments when she spoke with Geum Ba-ra.
Cheon Yeong-min said he felt excited and overwhelmed to the point of thinking, "Can I do this?" But he thinks it also meant that people trusted him. To repay that trust, he will do his best in every scene. He is approaching the role hoping this work will become another turning point in his acting career.
