My Little Old Boy actor Park Shin-yang revealed a shocking tale of fighting spirit he experienced at the brink of life and death while filming the drama Paris Lover.
On the 1st, the SBS My Little Old Boy (hereinafter "My Little Old Boy") that aired revealed a very special meeting between the two leads of the legend-making drama Paris Lover who stirred the entire nation, Park Shin-yang and Lee Dong-gun.
Park Shin-yang recalled the tight production environment in which the actors had to leave for Paris, France as soon as they met. Park Shin-yang mentioned that "we were constantly filming and I injured my back," indicating he suffered a serious injury on location in France.
Park Shin-yang said, "(When we weren't filming) I was lying down all the time and taking painkillers. To be honest, how should I put it about the entire 'Paris Lover.' I filmed in a daze because of the painkillers. (When there was no filming) I was all on crutches," shocking everyone.
As the situation worsened, Park Shin-yang confessed that he tried to call a doctor he knew for a solution, but he was so weak that even picking up the receiver to his ear was difficult. He was eventually rushed to the hospital by ambulance; when he regained consciousness and opened his eyes, he confronted the producing director in charge.
At the time, the producing director in charge told Park Shin-yang, "Park Shin-yang, you have to get up. The whole nation is waiting for Paris Lover," and Park Shin-yang honestly said that the producing director looked like a devil rather than an angel.
Co-star Lee Dong-gun said he was able to forget the pain thanks to the explosive popularity at the time. Lee Dong-gun said, "Thanks to the tremendous reaction, I was able to film," and explained, "Thanks to the tremendous popularity, it felt like I was slightly floating in the air," conveying the atmosphere on set at the time.
