Actress Ji So-yeon apologized for uploading a travelogue of Japan ahead of March 1.
On the 2nd, Ji So-yeon posted a long message on her social account and said, "I take seriously the many opinions you have sent regarding the Japan travel video uploaded in late February."
Earlier, Ji So-yeon traveled to Takamatsu, Japan with Yang Mi-ra and on Feb. 28, ahead of March 1, uploaded a travel video to the YouTube channel "Ji So-yeon Song Jae-hee's Bella-rye." However, after the video was uploaded, some netizens criticized that posting Japan travel content on March 1, the day commemorating the declaration of independence in resistance to Japan's colonial rule, was inappropriate.
In the end, Ji So-yeon quietly deleted the video, then posted an apology and made a statement. She bowed her head, saying, "The video was content recording a trip taken on Feb. 11, but it was my fault for not fully and deeply considering the meaning of the timing of posting," and, "I am truly sorry for not having examined it more carefully."
She added, "Although the video recorded my personal daily life, regardless of intent, I believe it is entirely my responsibility that the timing of the post caused discomfort and disappointment," and, "Also, I feel heavyhearted that criticism has extended to sister Mira, who traveled with me. The decision on upload timing and disclosure was entirely mine, and sister Mira, who accompanied me, did not know any part related to this. I deeply apologize to sister Mira as well, and I sincerely hope no one is hurt by this."
She continued, "Through this incident I have come to realize deeply that I must act more cautiously and responsibly. From now on, I will consider social context and timing more carefully in every process of planning and releasing content. I will humbly accept the criticisms you have sent."
Below is Ji So-yeon's full apology.
Hello. I am Ji So-yeon.
I take seriously the many opinions you have sent regarding the Japan travel video uploaded in late February.
The video was content recording a trip taken on Feb. 11, but it was my fault for not fully and deeply considering the meaning of the timing of the post. I am truly sorry for not having examined it more carefully.
Although the video recorded my personal daily life, regardless of intent, I believe it is entirely my responsibility that the timing of the post caused discomfort and disappointment. Once again, I apologize.
Also, I feel heavyhearted that criticism has extended to sister Mira, who traveled with me. The decision on upload timing and disclosure was entirely mine, and sister Mira, who accompanied me, did not know any part related to this. I deeply apologize to sister Mira as well, and I sincerely hope no one is hurt by this.
Through this incident I have come to realize deeply that I must act more cautiously and responsibly. From now on, I will consider social context and timing more carefully in every process of planning and releasing content.
I will humbly accept the criticisms you have sent.
