Singer Kim Sungkyu returns to the music scene with a new album after 2 years and 8 months.
His agency Billions will release Kim Sungkyu's sixth mini album Off the Map today (the 2nd) at 6 p.m. on various music sites.
Off the Map is an album that contains stories that begin anew the moment one veers off course. It naturally unfolds the image of "artist Kim Sungkyu" through a deeper musical color than previously shown and sonic changes.
The title track "When I think about you" is a pop ballad with a cinematic structure and progressively layered track sounds that leave an impression. Kim Sungkyu collaborated with Kim Jong-wan of NELL, who has had a long association with him, and composer Spaceboy to raise the song's completeness.
In addition, six tracks prove Kim Sungkyu's deepened musical capabilities: "Over It," which leaves a deep aftertaste with its intense chorus and driving vocals; "Dreaming," with a dreamy atmosphere; "Geurim" (a drawing/painting), which highlights sincere emotion; "Answer," in the alternative rock genre; and the instrumental track of the title song "When I think about you."
In particular, this album is the product of long-term collaboration between Kim Sungkyu and his band. Off the Map, which depicts Kim Sungkyu's present as he clearly set his own direction and chose that path autonomously, along with their shared energy, is expected to captivate global fans as Kim Sungkyu embarks on a new leap.
Kim Sungkyu will also hold concerts after the release of Off the Map. The 2026 Kim Sungkyu Live [LV4: Leap to Vector] (hereafter "LV4"), held from the 27th to the 29th at Olympic Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park, proved his popularity by selling out all three shows as soon as tickets opened.
The "LV" series has been Kim Sungkyu's signature concert brand since 2022, meeting global fans with a new concept at each performance. If the new album is a declaration of his intent to proclaim his own path, this concert is expected to be an opportunity to expand Kim Sungkyu's musical world with the audience along that path.
After a comeback in 2 years and 8 months and news of sold-out solo concerts, Kim Sungkyu, who opened 2026 with fanfare, draws attention to what new musical turning points he will create through Off the Map.
Meanwhile, Kim Sungkyu's sixth mini album Off the Map will be released today (the 2nd) at 6 p.m. on various music sites.<
