Coupang Play variety show "Sister Chicken" dominated the weekend with a "major chaos episode" after the four actors Ha Jung-woo, Kim Jun Han, Jung Soojung and Shim Eunkyung, who transformed into members of the "site-visit club" dreaming of becoming building owners, unleashed uncontrollable variety show instincts in episode 3, released on Feb. 28.
Sister Chicken is a chikita-ka chemistry talk show in which Suzy, I-rang and Min, three sisters who are sincere about hobbies and passionate about chicken, run a shrine-like chicken restaurant beloved by hobbyists and host top star guests who visit.
At the club meeting, Lee Suji, whom they had not seen in a while, ignited the scene instantly with a spicy confession attack about Ha Jung-woo's recent life, saying, "Your mouth must be completely dry? I was nurturing impure feelings all by myself for nothing." In response, Ha Jung-woo declared that he would no longer pretend to be a newlywed while doing site visits, causing a stir among the site-visit crew, and with ad-libs that teetered between R-rated and borderline, he genuinely embarrassed Lee Suji and Jung I-rang and turned the scene into a sea of laughter. Ha Jung-woo recently made public his romance with actor and influencer Cha Jung-won.
Shim Eunkyung, who recently won the best actress award from Japan's Kinema Junpo, boldly started by saying, "I'll pay! Give me everything you have," but faced a crisis as she eventually declared the first-ever "on-site exit," saying, "I'll take a short break," due to the three sisters' unimaginably high tension. After barely overcoming multiple crises, Shim Eunkyung announced the birth of a new variety character by transforming into a one-person monologue machine whenever the crew performed skits. Also, following the idol lucky-fan proof that drew attention, she revealed a shy fan affection with a surprise video letter, leaving a memorable reversed charm.
Asked about experiences of going all-in in life, Kim Jun Han said "acting," revealing he studied by watching Ha Jung-woo's performances during his rookie days. When Lee Suji unexpectedly asked, "Is Ha Jung-woo nervous? Is it me standing next to him that makes you nervous?" he replied to Lee Suji, "Actually… I think I was a little more nervous," turning the scene upside down. In a skit about going crazy in love, Jung Soojung, faced with the choice question "car poor vs. house poor?" became rapidly immersed and finally burst out the tension she had been holding in, completely shedding her "cool city woman" image.
Episode 3, which began with awkwardness and ended in madness, was praised for perfectly bringing out the actors' hidden variety potential.
