Doctor and entrepreneur Ye Esther revealed the backstory of how she bought Tower Palace in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for less than market price.
On the 1st, a video titled "The destiny story told by the Ye-Hong couple" was uploaded to the YouTube channel "Ye Esther's Esther TV." In the video, husband Hong Hye-geol mentioned his wife's "intuition" and recounted the connection with the house they currently live in.
Ye Esther recalled when she used to live on the 59th floor of Tower Palace under a jeonse lease and said, "I met a man who lives on the 60th floor in the elevator. I greeted him and turned away, and in that moment I thought, 'I would like to buy that person's house.'"
In response, Hong Hye-geol candidly said, "She said that several times, and I wondered if it made any sense. There was no word that that person was going to sell the house, and at the time a unit of the same size was trading for 5.2 billion won, but you said 3.8 billion won. I thought it was a thief's mentality."
However, Ye Esther's intuition became reality. She said, "For two months I kept thinking of the number '3.8 billion.' Then a listing actually came out, and I was contacted saying it could be up to 3.85 billion won," adding, "But when I expressed my refusal, they called again 40 minutes later and the contract was concluded at 3.8 billion won."
The residence is now known to be worth more than 7 billion won on the market. Ye Esther has previously said on another channel, "When I bought this house I took out a large loan."
