Actor Nam Bo-ra, who is due to give birth in June, shared her thoughts on natural childbirth.
Yesterday, on the 27th, KBS 2TV's Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant (hereafter Fun-Staurant) aired and revealed Nam Bo-ra's daily life as she prepares for childbirth.
That day Nam Bo-ra said, "When I went for an ultrasound I told my mother I want to have a natural childbirth." But her mother immediately replied, "No," showing her opposition.
The natural childbirth Nam Bo-ra mentioned is a method that minimizes injections, episiotomy, enemas, and shaving, reduces medical staff intervention, and focuses on the interaction between the mother and the baby. Her family expressed concern, saying it is not an easy method of delivery.
Nam Bo-ra expressed interest, saying, "I've heard it's good for the baby and for the mother," but her family advised caution, saying, "Your body is weak and you're older," and urged her to think carefully. In particular, her mother, who has experienced childbirth several times, voiced concern that it is not significantly different from natural delivery.
Nam Bo-ra summed up her position, saying, "I've heard my family's opinions, so I'll think it over carefully and decide."
Meanwhile, Nam Bo-ra was born in 1989 and first became known after appearing as the eldest daughter of 11 siblings on a 2005 MBC variety program. She married a non-celebrity businessman last year and is currently expecting her first child.<
