From Girls' Generation's Tiffany to 2PM's Ok Taecyeon, wedding news for second-generation idols is coming one after another.
First, Tiffany Young completed a marriage registration with actor Byun Yo-Han and became legally married. On the 27th, Byun Yo-Han's agency TEAMHOPE said, "We have completed the marriage registration based on deep trust and love for each other," and "Out of respect for the couple's wish to inform fans first, we are announcing it," the agency said. It drew a clear line on speculation about a premarital pregnancy that had been raised, saying, "That is not true."
The two became legally married about two months after acknowledging last December that they were dating with marriage as the goal. The wedding schedule is not decided yet, and the agency said they are "considering a simple wedding in the form of a service to gather family members and share gratitude."
The couple's relationship began with the Disney+ original series "Uncle SamSik," released in May 2024, and bore fruit after about a year and a half of dating.
Next, 2PM's Ok Taecyeon is joining the ranks of those getting married. Ok Taecyeon is scheduled to hold a wedding on April 24 with a noncelebrity partner four years younger than him. After nurturing their love for 10 years, they chose to open the second chapter of their lives. His agency Fifty One K said, "Because the bride-to-be is a noncelebrity, it is difficult to disclose detailed schedules," but officially confirmed the marriage.
Ok Taecyeon earlier announced his marriage in a handwritten letter last November, saying, "I decided to spend my life with one person who has trusted me for a long time." In particular, at last year's year-end KBS Drama Awards acceptance speech, he mentioned the bride-to-be by name and publicly confessed, "I love you," attracting attention. The man who had been quietly maintaining his relationship did not hide his joy at that happy moment.
Since their dating was revealed in 2020, the two quietly continued their relationship. Interest grew when a proposal scene in Paris, France, was captured in February last year, and they received congratulations with the marriage announcement nine months later.
Tiffany and Ok Taecyeon, who were much loved as second-generation idols, are now opening the second chapters of their lives as a man's wife and a woman's husband, respectively, with fans' support continuing.
