Former group Cleo member Chae Eun-jeong announced she filed a marriage registration.
Chae Eun-jeong said on the 27th, "After holding the ceremony on Aug. 31 last year, as of yesterday we have officially become a married couple. Ah.. the feeling is really strange. Having been born into this world and spending more than 40 years in our respective lives, year after year all those times passed and in 2026, we are now legally one."
She added, "Rather than the sweetness of newlyweds, as two middle-aged people who are completely different start living together as a real married couple, ENFP/ESTJ days have felt like a war, but cautiously painting a happy future, though we will be worn down and clash a lot, we will try to take one step at a time together," she said.
She urged, "Please cheer for and celebrate this first step a lot."
Chae Eun-jeong married a non-celebrity on Aug. 31 last year and became a married couple. Her husband is known to work in the broadcasting industry.
Earlier, Chae Eun-jeong appeared on tvN's Kim Chang-ok show in January and said, "We are both heading into our mid-40s. So if I were to have a child, I absolutely would have to have it soon. It's not that I won't have one. But my husband recently said he specifically thinks about having one five years from now. Honestly, in five years I will almost be 50, so I asked why he married me instead of someone in their 20s. He also said things like that. If you want it, have it, and if not, it's fine. It felt so irresponsible. Am I supposed to have and raise the child alone? Is this a declaration that he really won't help? What does that mean? I don't know what his feelings are," she said, sharing her conflict.
Meanwhile, Chae Eun-jeong debuted in 1999 with Cleo's Cleo first album and, after Cleo disbanded, continued solo activities under the name Angel. She formed a girl group in Hong Kong, worked as an MC and director, and was active in various fields.
In addition, after appearing on MBC's King of Mask Singer and TV CHOSUN's Miss Trot 2 in 2020, last November she recruited new members Koo Do-kyung and Dini to reform Cleo as a trio and continued activities, and recently released her second city pop single Tonight.
