Group SHINee member ONEW surprised fans by releasing track videos for an unreleased new song, stoking comeback anticipation.
ONeW on the 27th showcased two types of track videos for the song "X, Oh Why?" from mini album 5 "TOUGH LOVE" on his official YouTube channel.
"X, Oh Why?" is a song that ONEW previously previewed on stage at the Seoul encore concert "2025-26 ONEW WORLD TOUR [ONEW THE LIVE : PERCENT (%)] ENCORE" and received enthusiastic responses from fans.
ONeW captured the vivid energy of the concert venue in two versions of the track video, vertical and horizontal, drawing attention. The vertical track video is an edited version that intercuts performances from the two days of the main shows. ONEW's powerful performance, unfolding over an explosive drop and rising beats, maximized the song's paradoxical charm.
Meanwhile, the horizontal track video contains an impromptu version created in response to fans' encore requests. In particular, ONEW performed without a microphone, surrendering to the music and synchronizing with the dancers. It warmed hearts by revealing ONEW's thoughtful consideration, always striving to present fans with a highly polished performance.
"X, Oh Why?" is a song for which ONEW personally participated in the lyrics, featuring upbeat sounds that contrast with cold lyrics saying farewell to "X (Ex)". It is a track that decorates the finale of mini album 5 "TOUGH LOVE" with dazzling energy and recalls ONEW's overwhelming command on stage.
ONeW will release mini album 5 "TOUGH LOVE" at 6 p.m. on March 9 on various music platforms. "TOUGH LOVE" departs from clichéd love stories and weaves the "many facets of love" we encounter in the world into an album like a novel. ONEW is expected to further solidify his presence as an artist-producer by listing himself as a composer for the first time since his debut as well as a lyricist.
