Former U-KISS member Dongho has been caught up in an extreme public exposure battle. Allegations about his private life have arisen with sensational keywords such as affair, abuse and prostitution, and controversy continues.
Dongho is engaged in a war of revelations with his ex-wife eight years after their divorce. The ex-wife released mobile messenger conversations saying she would expose prostitution, and Dongho has responded by calling it a "victim cosplay." Dongho said he plans to file a criminal complaint and announced he will respond firmly.
The ex-wife, identified as Ms. A, posted a piece on her social media on the 25th exposing their married life and divorce. Ms. A claimed that Dongho met more than one woman during their marriage and that infidelity was the reason for the divorce. She said that even when she was pregnant, Dongho was caught sending direct messages on social media to a racing model.
Ms. A also said Dongho did not pay child support after the divorce and that his conduct during visitation exchanges was not good.
As Ms. A's allegations publicly targeted Dongho, he appeared to respond. On his social media, Dongho wrote, "Get your act together and live. If you want to take this to the end with me, let's go. I'm not scared of this kind of publicization that you clutch like a weakness anymore," and added, "People no longer care about me and it's almost been 10 years since I quit being an entertainer; I'm a private citizen now and I don't care about the articles, so do whatever you want and see what happens," defending himself.
After his private life became publicized, Dongho reiterated his position. Dongho said, "To avoid any misunderstanding, I have never had an affair, and the visitation exchanges, child support and abuse are all false," and added that he plans to take legal action for spreading false information and defamation.
Dongho left a warning message for Ms. A, saying, "If you planned to circulate it privately and then disappear, what nerve did you have to do that? Until now I tolerated things with a good heart, but I can't anymore," and, "I've warned you enough and you're the one who crossed the line."
Despite announcing legal action, the exposure battle did not stop. Through social media, Ms. A continued sensational revelations, saying, "Wow, it's all false. Are you crazy? Fine, let's take it to the end. Sue me, please. I'll reveal the names of the members who prostituted with Dongho," and continued provocative disclosures.
Ms. A went on to say, "I never received child support, he beat the child, I will take the child out, expose his face and the child's testimony, and meet with reporters to do it properly. I can verify the child support in my account and my mother's account and will lay it all out. What makes you so confident? I am pursuing a lawsuit and there will be no leniency. I have a recording of a phone call with Dongho's mother. I will reveal everything about how Dongho's mother apologized to me for the abuse," she wrote.
Ms. A also released captured photos of mobile messenger conversations between a person she said resembled Dongho and someone using the nickname "Dongbulbi." The messages included lines such as "You can teach even a bar girl to handle money well" and "You should hand over three condoms," and Ms. A claimed, "He made my son engage in prostitution." However, it has not been confirmed whether the conversation actually took place. Dongho is reported to have worked in Japan after the divorce as a DJ and an executive at a large company.
Dongho's rebuttal continued. He posted a long message on social media again, saying, "You were the one who started posting from my son's account from the beginning. Why are you playing the victim who protects the family from me?" and added, "You're publicizing family matters that no one would even be curious about. Don't play the victim for the sake of the child; if you have something to say, file the complaint and do it with a lawyer." Dongho warned, "Don't forget that you started the complaint and this whole mess. Wake up. It's already irreversible, though."
The exposure battle unfolded eight years after Dongho announced his divorce three years after his 2018 marriage. The fallout was greater because of sensational private-life keywords such as affair, abuse and prostitution. At the time of the divorce announcement, Dongho had said it was due to "a difference in personality" and "not ending the relationship on bad terms," so the sudden exposure battle has been an even bigger shock. Attention is focused on whether the truth dispute between Dongho and his ex-wife, who continue to expose private and family matters, can reach a settlement.
