Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's eldest son Maddox Jolie Pitt has once again been confirmed not to have used his father's surname.
Maddox (24) recently worked as an assistant director on the newly released film "Koocher." The work is a drama starring Angelina Jolie that depicts the intersecting stories of two women against the backdrop of Paris Fashion Week and the life of a woman diagnosed with breast cancer.
In French theaters the film's end credits released on the 26th (local time) listed Maddox's name as "Maddox Jolie." This removed his father's surname, "Pitt," from the previously used "Jolie-Pitt."
Previously, Maddox used the name "Maddox Jolie-Pitt" in the credits of the 2024 film "Maria," making this recent change more notable.
Maddox is not alone. Some of the children of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are already not using their father's surname. Eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" at an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority initiation ceremony held at Spelman College in Atlanta in 2023. And Shiloh also appeared as "Shiloh Jolie" in the 2024 play "The Outsiders" at Playbill.
In this regard, a person familiar said, "Brad Pitt was deeply hurt to learn that Shiloh changed her surname," and added, "The moment she was born was the happiest moment of my life, and the current situation is very difficult."
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 and sought sole custody of their six children. At the time, allegations of abuse surfaced during conflicts aboard a private plane, but the FBI, after investigation, decided not to bring criminal charges. The two were legally divorced in 2019, and property and legal disputes were finally resolved only at the end of 2024.
Brad Pitt is currently reported to be estranged from most of his children. A source said, "There have been several attempts to repair relationships, but it has not been easy," and added, "It has been a difficult process for the whole family."
