Wonder Girls alum Sunye revealed her special bond with her grandmother.
On the 27th, KBS 2TV Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant (hereafter Fun-Staurant) featured Wonder Girls alum Sunye.
That day Sunye shared family stories while revealing the radish rice recipe her grandmother often made during her childhood. Sunye said, "I was entrusted to my grandmother's care as soon as I was born. My grandmother is like a mother. My grandmother and grandfather raised me, their granddaughter, with affection as if I were their youngest daughter."
She added, "My grandmother went through so many twists and turns that she used to say, 'I could publish several books about my life,'" showing deep affection.
Sunye recalled memories with her grandmother that continued after her marriage. She shared a video showing her grandmother smiling while looking at her when she gave birth to her first child at 24 and said, "She adored my firstborn. Strangely, my eldest resembles my grandmother a lot." She added, "When my first child was 15 months old, while we were in Canada, my grandmother passed away and went to heaven."
Sunye also expressed gratitude toward her aunt's family. She said, "My aunt and uncle are like another set of parents. While raising three siblings, they always took care of me. They fed me and dressed me when there were good things."
In response, Kim Yong Bin said, "Sunye's story is similar to mine. I was raised by my grandmother, and last year my grandmother died of pancreatic cancer," and added, "Now my aunt and uncle are by my side," sharing his family history.
Meanwhile, Sunye stopped group activities in 2013, married a husband who is a former missionary, and has three daughters.<
