Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong expressed his feelings about the long legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend.
On the 27th, a new video titled "We hosted a sleeping supernova!" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'B-grade Studio'. Kim Hyun-joong and Park Hyo-jun appeared as guests in the video and talked.
That day Kim Hyun-joong explained about his friendship with Park Hyo-jun, "He is the only entertainer who visited me during my military leave. He also emceed my son's doljanchi." On how they became close, he said, "We met in 2013," and Park Hyo-jun said, "We filmed a drama based on the comic book 'City Conquest.'"
However, the project was canceled due to programming failure. Kim Hyun-joong explained, "The story was about the two of us conquering the nation; we even finished filming the Japan location, but KBS dropped it due to programming failure." Park Hyo-jun added, "We filmed for five months and waited a year, and then it was completely scrapped."
About SS501's return, Kim Hyun-joong said, "I don't know if you can call it a return; it's been 20 years since our debut. Not all five members are together; three of us formed a group called 'FIVE O ONE' and are sailing smoothly. The album will come out in February. It will come out in Feb. 2026."
Also, the cast of 'B-grade hearing' mentioned Kim Hyun-joong's past controversies, and Choi Sung-min asked, "If comments are posted here, 100% of them will be about that incident. But we can't not talk about this incident."
Previously, Kim Hyun-joong faced private life controversies with his ex-girlfriend, identified as Ms. A, over pregnancy and assault disputes. After a fierce legal battle that lasted five years from 2015, the case was settled with some of Kim Hyun-joong's claims upheld and Ms. A fined 100 million won.
In response, Kim Hyun-joong opened up, "What is there to be cautious about?" Regarding his involvement in the assault dispute, he said, "About the pushing situation, when they said 'that is also assault,' I received a summary fine of 5 million won; I'll pay that much. I didn't expect it to get this big."
Nam Ho-yeon said that after reviewing materials, everything came out as not guilty and no charges, and lamented, "But many people don't know about this ruling," and Kim Hyun-joong revealed his feelings, "But I do not care about that incident."
When questions about the case related to his ex-girlfriend continued, Kim Hyun-joong said in surprise, "I went to the court, but people ask sharper questions than the court," and Choi Sung-min asked, "There are stories that the (former partner) demanded about 1.6 billion won."
Kim Hyun-joong shared his feelings, "I don't know. At that time the lawyer handled it. That was settled. It took a very long time to be acquitted, and after such a long time there was nothing gained and nothing lost."
Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-joong debuted in 2005 with the group SS501, and that same year he began appearing in the MBC sitcom 'Nonstop 5' and went on to appear in dramas such as 'Boys Over Flowers', 'Playful Kiss', 'The Age of Feeling: Birth of a Hero', and 'When Time Stops'. He married his first love, a non-celebrity of the same age, in Feb. 2022, and they welcomed a son in Oct. of the same year.
