Actor Park Sunghoon spoke on the record for the first time in about a year after drawing controversy for posting obscene material on social media (SNS).
On the afternoon of the 26th at The Link Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul, Park Sunghoon attended the production presentation for JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama "Efficient meeting of single men and women" and said, "It has been a while since I stood in front of people, so I'm very nervous," adding, "Compared with before, I have been approaching both my work and life with a careful and serious attitude."
Earlier, in December 2024, Park Sunghoon sparked controversy by posting on his Instagram story the cover image of a Japanese adult video (AV) that parodied the Netflix series "Squid Game Season," in which he appeared.
At the time, Park Sunghoon explained, "I received the photo via DM and, judging that it could be problematic, downloaded it while forwarding it to the company manager. After sending it to the manager, I failed to delete it, and it was uploaded by mistake." However, as his agency reversed its explanation, the backlash grew.
Due to the controversy, Park Sunghoon left the drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty," for which he had been confirmed to appear, and went into self-reflection. After that, in an interview about "Squid Game Season2" in January last year, Park shed tears and apologized.
Meanwhile, "Efficient meeting of single men and women" follows a woman who decides to find love as she goes on a blind date, meets two men with different charms, is drawn and swayed, and searches for the true meaning of love. Director Lee Jaehoon, who directed "Run On" and "Divorce Attorney Shin," took the megaphone.
