Lee Hyori-Lee Sang Soon couple directly explained why they joined a dating growth project for young people with developmental disabilities.
Today, SBS Special 'My heart is mongle-mongle - Mongle counseling center' (hereinafter 'Mongle counseling center', directed by Go Hye-rin), which premieres in March, is about creating the first romance in the lives of young people with developmental disabilities. Go Hye-rin PD, who won the Baeksang Arts Awards for best work with 'Hakjeon and the later thing Kim Min-ki', takes on a new challenge, and the 14-year celebrity couple Lee Hyori, Lee Sang Soon, renowned as an ideal couple in the entertainment industry, appear as 'counseling center chiefs' to help the young people with developmental disabilities (hereinafter "Mongle-ssi") who dream of love, promising a pleasant synergy.
Meanwhile, ahead of the launch of 'Mongle counseling center', Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon revealed in a written interview their thoughts on joining the meaningful project, drawing attention. Regarding her appearance on 'Mongle counseling center', Lee Hyori said, "First of all, I liked Go Hye-rin PD's previous works, and I thought she is a producer who makes programs with sincerity, so I wanted to join," expressing trust in the production team. She added, "There were many things I didn't know about developmental disabilities and young people with developmental disabilities, so I also had a strong desire to learn more."
Lee Sang Soon also said, "The purpose was good." He added, "I thought it was a program that deals with a topic that could be sensitive without being too heavy or too light," and added, "I decided to appear because I thought I could look at young people with developmental disabilities' thoughts about dating as interestingly as watching a dating program."
Meanwhile, through 'Mongle counseling center', Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon shared an eight-week journey as three "Mongle-ssi" O Ji-hyun, Yoo Ji-hoon, and Jung Ji-won each went on blind dates and after-dates with different partners and searched for love, sometimes building relationships as close as family and sometimes like friends. Regarding this, Lee Sang Soon said, "Ms. Ji-hyun, Mr. Ji-hoon, and Ms. Ji-won all left such memories and I grew very fond of them," revealing his special affection and bringing a warm smile.
Looking back on the eight-week journey, Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon each chose the most memorable date, raising expectations. First, Lee Hyori said, "Ji-hyun's date is the most memorable," adding, "More than name, job, or age, feeling the person in front of you as they are and seeing them like someone you like made my heart very mongle." In response, Lee Sang Soon said, "For me, Ji-hyun's snowy day date at Hangang Park is the most memorable. Her clear and pure expression was so beautiful that it was healing.
