Actor Song Ji-hyo found a polyp during the first health checkup she has ever had in her life.
On the afternoon of the 26th, a video titled "Shocking Song Ji-hyo's first-ever health checkup results" was uploaded to the YouTube channel '송지효 JIHYO SSONG'.
Appearing for a health checkup for the first time in 45 years, Song Ji-hyo followed a diet for a week and stayed up all night the night before, showing up at the hospital with no energy. After numerous tests, she underwent sedation for an upper and lower endoscopy. Fortunately, the production team was also surprised by her quick recovery, and worriedly asked, "Did I perhaps say anything nonsensical?"
Song Ji-hyo went to the doctor to hear her health checkup results, and the attending physician said, "There is no ulcer and the redness looks like mild gastritis, so you are generally healthy," and added, "There were no major issues in the colon overall, but there was a small polyp. The polyp is about 5mm in size, which is 0.5cm," surprising Song Ji-hyo.
Surprised, Song Ji-hyo worried, "Isn't 5mm really big?" The doctor said, "It's not that big. Judging by its shape, it's not a bad polyp, but it can still be a causative factor for (cancer), so it's better to remove it all for now. This one was removed," and reassured Song Ji-hyo, "Just be careful for about 4 to 5 days after the health checkup. Don't do overly strenuous exercise or eat spicy foods; avoid those things. The colon is usually checked once every 4 to 5 years, and the stomach and colon can be checked together again in two years. You don't need to worry about the endoscopy results. You're generally healthy."
