Singer and actor Jisoo explained why she appeared in 'Boyfriend on Demand'.
On the 26th at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul, a Netflix series 'Boyfriend on Demand' unpack press showcase was held. Director Kim Jeong-sik and actors Jisoo and Seo Inguk attended this showcase to talk about the work.
Due to be released on March 6, 'Boyfriend on Demand' is a romantic comedy about wish fulfillment in which webtoon PD Mirae (Jisoo), exhausted by real life, subscribes to and experiences dating through a virtual dating simulation, and its unique premise of "subscribing to dating in a virtual world" on top of the realistic daily life of office workers that everyone can relate to is expected to induce thrilling excitement.
That day Jisoo said the reason she chose the work was, "From the first time I read the script, somehow the talk of virtual reality didn't feel like a distant future and there were relatable parts. The character Mirae is also about the same age as me, and I felt I could relate to her worries and how she overcomes them, so I chose it."
Jisoo, who plays Seo Mirae in the drama, shone with her unique loveliness. On the character's synchronicity, Jisoo added, "Personality-wise I like staying at home and I thought she resembled me. Mirae's worries and the fact that she is a character who takes on challenges made me think viewers will have the same thoughts as I do when they watch Mirae."
As the sole experiencer in 'Boyfriend on Demand', Jisoo shared her experience review, "When you put this device on your head and activate it, I can enter the virtual reality. Going through a reality that is somewhat different from the real world, I healed and experienced various jobs, and I think I received healing."
Through 'Boyfriend on Demand', Seo Inguk worked with Jisoo for the first time. He recalled, "We met for the first time for this project, and it was more fun than I expected and very humorous."
Seo Inguk praised, "When filming 'Boyfriend on Demand', the set started with laughter and ended with laughter. We filmed very happily, and I thought she is a friend with a lovable charm. The Mirae in the script is less lovable than the Mirae Jisoo created, and I thought she is someone who brings that out well."
Meanwhile, the thrilling wish-fulfillment romantic comedy Netflix series 'Boyfriend on Demand' will be released on March 6.
