Actor Ryu Seung-soo has joined Our Universe.
In the seventh episode of the tvN Wednesday-Thursday drama Our Universe, which aired on the 25th, Ryu Seung-soo appeared as Seon Gyu-tae, the father of Seon Tae-hyung (Bae In Hyuk), foreshadowing a new turning point in the drama. Gyu-tae's sudden appearance, who was previously known to have left his young sons Seon Woo-jin (Ha Joon) and Seon Tae-hyung, piqued curiosity about what developments it would prompt.
Gyu-tae drew attention with a shocking appearance in which he was discovered after entering the house where Tae-hyung, Woo-hyeon-jin (Roh Jeong-Eui), and Seon Woo-ju (Park Yoo-ho) live. Seeing Gyu-tae, who startled her, Hyeon-jin was told, "The door was open so I came in. I am Woojin's father," revealing his identity.
Soon after, when Gyu-tae faced Tae-hyung he showed tears along with the words, "So you really are Tae-hyung. It's too late. I'm really sorry." Tae-hyung, however, could not hide his confusion at Gyu-tae's sudden appearance after leaving him as a child. Pulling his hand away uncomfortably, Tae-hyung drew a firm line, saying, "What business do you have suddenly showing up after decades?" and "It's not the time to share old grievances. Please go back now."
Later, when Gyu-tae met Tae-hyung again, he knelt and apologized in tears, saying, "I'm sorry I'm so late," in response to Tae-hyung's harsher words and actions than at their first meeting, but Tae-hyung left after saying, "I hope I never have to see you again." Nevertheless, Gyu-tae stayed around Yuseong Villa, showing kindness to Tae-hyung's and Hyeon-jin's neighbors, and—by helping when Woo-ju urgently needed care—made Tae-hyung's feelings even more conflicted.
With Ryu Seung-soo's addition ushering in a new phase, tvN's Our Universe airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:40 p.m.
