Ok Taecyeon, the second married man in the group 2PM, will marry on Apr. 24. Ok Taecyeon will open the second chapter of his life with a non-celebrity fiancée who is four years younger and with whom he has nurtured his love for 10 years.
As Ok Taecyeon prepares to marry at a location in Seoul on Apr. 24, his romantic love story is drawing attention. From a 10-year long relationship to a proposal in Paris and a luxury newlywed home revealed in advance, attention was focused on him.
Ok Taecyeon's agency Fifty One K issued an official statement to OSEN on the 24th regarding the Apr. 24 marriage reports that had surfaced, saying, "We ask for your understanding that we cannot provide detailed schedules because the fiancée is a non-celebrity." They did not disclose specific plans, but that amounted to tacit acknowledgment.
Ok Taecyeon earlier announced his marriage directly in a handwritten letter in Nov. last year. He said, "I promised to spend my life with one person who has believed in me for a long time. We will be supportive presences for each other and walk through the rest of our lives together."
In particular, after announcing his marriage, Ok Taecyeon drew attention when he caused a stir at the year-end KBS Drama Awards by winning the male excellence award in the miniseries category for the drama "The First Night With the Duke" and confessing his love while mentioning his fiancée's real name.
At the time, Ok Taecyeon shouted in his acceptance speech, "I want to sincerely thank my fiancée. I love you, Ji-hye!" Because his fiancée is a non-celebrity, Ok Taecyeon had kept their relationship private throughout, but he mentioned her name out of a desire to share the happy moment with her. Ok Taecyeon's heartfelt acceptance speech drew great interest.
Ok Taecyeon and his fiancée attracted attention when their relationship was revealed in 2020, and they quietly nurtured their love afterward. In Feb. last year, a proposal in Paris, France, in which Ok Taecyeon knelt and handed a ring to his girlfriend was captured and drew interest. At the time, his agency described it as "an event filmed to celebrate the girlfriend's birthday," but nine months later they officially announced the marriage and were congratulated.
After the marriage announcement, their newlywed home was surprisingly revealed through interior designer Park Ji-hyun, drawing interest. Designer Park Ji-hyun posted on her SNS in Dec. last year, "I was happy to take on the home of a wonderful person. I had been holding back this site to post later," and shared several photos along with the caption, "He who likes cooking goes grocery shopping every day after work and heads straight into the kitchen with true cooking vibes. He said he liked a comfortable home, so I made the house using white, wood, metal and stone. I also placed the pieces of artwork he had and enjoyed the styling." The space designed by Park Ji-hyun was Ok Taecyeon's home.
The newlywed home of Ok Taecyeon revealed before the wedding had a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. The living room and bedroom were neatly arranged in white tones, and the kitchen and bathroom were sophisticated and well organized. The spacious, tidy bedroom felt cozy in white tones, and the living room featured a fireplace as a focal point. With Ok Taecyeon participating directly in the magazine shoot ahead of the wedding, interest in the newlywed home grew even hotter.
