Amid allegations that the reason for the divorce of Dongho, formerly of the group U-KISS, was an affair, Dongho took a firm stance saying "I don't care."
Dongho's ex-wife, identified as Ms. A, posted a revealing message on her social media on the 25th about their married life and the reason for the divorce.
Ms. A alleged that the number of women Dongho met during their marriage was more than one or two, and that even when she was pregnant he messaged a racing model on social media with DMs (direct messages) and was caught. She added that Dongho did not pay child support after the divorce and that his attitude during custody visitation was not good.
Ms. A criticized Dongho's attitude during visitation, saying he did not even look at the child, and claimed, "He didn't send even 1,000 won for child support and bought luxury goods for a woman at a Japanese bar." She added that she has been solely responsible for raising their son for 11 years.
By contrast, Dongho took a firm stance against Ms. A's claims. On social media he wrote, "Get your act together and live. If you want to try to finish this with me, let's try," and added, "I'm not scared anymore of the publicizing you hold like a weakness and the reporters spreading it—do your worst."
He went on to take a hard line, saying, "People aren't interested in me anymore, it's been almost 10 years since I quit being an entertainer and I'm a private citizen now, and I don't care if articles come out, so do whatever you want and see what happens."
After Dongho issued a rebuttal and targeted her, Ms. A switched her social media account to private.
Dongho debuted in 2008 with U-KISS and was an active core member, later drawing attention in films and variety shows. However, he temporarily suspended his activities in the entertainment industry in 2013, and on Oct. 2015 he married a non-celebrity one year his senior and the following year they welcomed their first son, Asel.
Three years after the marriage, in 2018, news of their divorce was announced. At the time Dongho said, "We decided to divorce because of personality differences, and all paperwork for an amicable divorce has been completed. This was a decision made after much discussion and worry, and because I did not part on bad terms with the child's mother, our relationship as a married couple is over but I will carry out my responsibilities as a parent to the end."
