Amid claims by his ex-wife that Dongho, formerly of the group U-KISS, divorced because of an affair, Dongho personally issued a statement saying all of those allegations are false.
On the 25th, Dongho's ex-wife, a person surnamed A, posted a post on her personal SNS account exposing her married life with Dongho. A said that the number of women Dongho met during their marriage was more than one or two, and that even when she was pregnant he was caught after sending direct messages on SNS to a racing model. She also added that Dongho did not pay child support after the divorce and that his attitude during visitation was not good.
A then criticized Dongho's attitude during visitation, saying he did not even look at the child, and claimed, "He didn't even send 1,000 won for child support and bought luxury goods for a woman at a Japanese bar." She also said she had taken sole responsibility for raising their son for 11 years. She released a photo of Dongho with another woman.
Dongho rebutted firmly. On the same day he said, "Get your act together and live. If you want to try to go all the way with me, let's do it," and added, "The publicizing you clutch onto like a weakness, reporters feel free to take it — that doesn't scare me anymore. People no longer care about me and it's been nearly 10 years since I left the entertainment industry and I'm an ordinary person, so I don't care if an article runs. Do whatever you want and let's see."
As the controversy grew, Dongho posted a long message on SNS on the 26th saying his ex-wife's claims are all false and that he plans to sue her for defamation. He said, "For you to even make this into an article.." and added, "To avoid misunderstandings, let me say there was no affair, and the visitation, child support and abuse claims are all false. I plan to file a criminal complaint for spreading false information and defamation."
Dongho tagged his ex-wife's SNS account and wrote in anger, "If you're going to make it private and hide, what nerve did you have to do this? I put up with it with good will until now, but I can't tolerate it any longer."
He continued, "No wonder even your mother, who worked you like a servant her whole life and never complained, had you involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital — now I understand," and added, "She said yesterday that the psychiatric medication she took to Japan ran out and the child isn't in their right mind, so please understand."
He also said, "First show your psychiatric evaluation and then let's talk. People need to know how mentally ill you are to view the situation without misunderstanding."
He warned, "I don't know whether you're on the run for some wrongdoing, but have the tax authorities investigate the hundreds of millions or billions you received from your exes that you hid in cash at home, and have the qualification review for the house you live in done again. I warned you enough, and you crossed the line."
Meanwhile, Dongho debuted in 2008 as a member of the group U-KISS. Dongho, who worked across singing, variety shows and acting, stopped his entertainment industry activities in 2013, and later married a non-celebrity one year his senior on Oct. 2015 and had one son. However, Dongho announced a divorce in 2018, three years after the marriage, citing personality differences.
