Lee Soo-kyung showcases chameleon-like charm through "Shim Woo-myeon Yeon-ri-ri."
The new KBS 2TV miniseries "Shim Woo-myeon Yeon-ri-ri," directed by Choi Yeon-soo and written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji, scheduled to air on March 26 at 9:50 p.m., is a heartwarming family reboot comedy about the genuine city family Seong Tae-hoon household, who suddenly lands in the pristine yet fierce(?) area "Yeon-ri-ri," struggling to make a comeback to Seoul.
In the drama, Lee Soo-kyung plays Jo Mi-ryeo, a "supermom" who raised three sons alone while her husband was tied up with work. She is a housewife working as an SNS influencer who, with no farming knowledge or experience of rural life, moves to Yeon-ri-ri to follow her family.
In stills released today (the 25th), Lee Soo-kyung instantly leaves a strong first impression as Jo Mi-ryeo and captures attention. Highly adaptable Jo Mi-ryeo tries to disarm the villagers with her signature bright smile, but rural life proves to be tougher than she imagined. The deep worry shadowing her face, which had seemed always cheerful, raises curiosity about what will unfold in the story.
Lee Soo-kyung is expected to perfectly portray a character who evokes realistic sympathy by emphasizing her quirky personality and spunky spirit. Teaming up with Park Sung-woong and appearing on KBS home screens, Lee Soo-kyung will convincingly embody Jo Mi-ryeo as she faces challenges beyond imagination during her adaptation period, issuing a Yeon-ri-ri alert to Thursday home audiences.
While expectations are high for the diverse performances Lee Soo-kyung will show, the chemistry with her on-screen husband Park Sung-woong (playing Seong Tae-hoon) has also emerged as another viewing highlight.
Meanwhile, the Thursday home-screen drama "Shim Woo-myeon Yeon-ri-ri" is directed by Choi Yeon-soo, who co-directed "Pump Up the Healthy Love," "Crazy Love," and "The Proposal," and written by Song Jeong-rim, who wrote "My Merry Marriage," and Wang Hye-ji, who wrote "A Romance Without Dating." With actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung playing a married couple, the trusted pairing is drawing attention.
