Actor Kim Gyuri dismissed rumors of a business suspension that flared after holding a YouTube gathering at a restaurant run by group DJ DOC's Lee Haneul and announced plans for legal action against those posting malicious comments.
Kim Gyuri said on the 24th on social media, "I contacted Lee Haneul directly to check the facts, and he said the business is operating smoothly."
Regarding the controversy that arose earlier, Kim said, "First, on the 1st on YouTube 'Kim Gyuri tv Mopsi,' we held a regular meetup at Hyeongje Gopchang. Besides those who enjoyed the video, some cyber wrecker took aim, and it seems people who took orders filed civil complaints with the district office."
She continued, "As for the comment manipulation groups who are engaging in personal attacks beyond obstructing business, I'm letting you know in advance that the 'Hyeongje Gopchang' side said they will file complaints, so I plan to pass along materials even for those who come to my channel and leave malicious comments."
She apologized for the fan meetup video from the day that sparked the controversy. Kim Gyuri said, "Asking for one song to keep the mood lively seems to have caused this commotion, and I feel sorry to the representatives of 'Hyeongje Gopchang,'" adding, "I will be more careful next time."
Early this month, Kim Gyuri held a fan meetup at the restaurant of Lee Haneul and Jeong Jaeyong in Eunpyeong District, Seoul. As videos of dancing and singing spread from the venue, which is registered as a general restaurant, civil complaints were filed for violations of the Food Sanitation Act, and rumors of a two-month business suspension spread.
In response, the restaurant said that day, "We have not received any administrative disposition even once and are operating normally," and signaled legal action over spreading false information.
