Rock group The Cross member Lee Si-ha took office as the 25th president of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
According to KOMCA on the 25th, Lee took office as president that day and began a four-year term.
Lee presented core tasks to double the amount of royalties flowing in from overseas and to build a structure in which artificial intelligence (AI) and music creators coexist, thereby increasing writers' real income.
He also laid out a plan to dramatically improve welfare systems so creators can work stably.
Lee said, "Rather than an association that only grows numbers, we will be an association that changes creators' lives," and added, "We will prove it with results within four years."
Lee was elected over composer Kim Hyeong-seok in the KOMCA 25th presidential election held in Dec. last year.
He has worked as The Cross's vocalist, releasing "Don't Cry" and "For You," and he is currently also serving as a professor at Sejong University's Graduate School of Industry.
