2PM member and actor Ok Taecyeon will marry in April after about six years of public dating.
On the 25th, a representative of his agency Fifty One K told OSEN regarding the marriage rumors saying Ok Taecyeon would marry on April 24, "Please understand that we cannot provide detailed schedules because the fiancée is a non-celebrity," offering an official statement. With this tacit acknowledgment, it has effectively become established that Ok Taecyeon will hold a wedding with the fiancée this spring.
Ok Taecyeon revealed in 2020 that he was dating his girlfriend and they continued their public relationship. In February last year, a photo showing Ok Taecyeon giving a ring to a woman at a location in Paris, France, was released on social media, raising the possibility of a proposal and marriage rumors. At the time, his agency denied it, saying, "It was an event filmed to celebrate the girlfriend's birthday."
However, in November last year, Ok Taecyeon directly revealed his marriage plans to fans in a handwritten letter. He said at the time, "I promised to spend my life with a person who has trusted me for a long time. We will be a steady presence for each other and walk through the rest of our lives together."
He also emphasized, "I sincerely thank once again everyone who has supported me with a constant heart until I became who I am today. I cannot put into words how much your love and support have empowered me. I will continue to do my best to repay the love and trust you have given me as a 2PM member, as an actor, and as your Taecyeon."
The agency also announced, "Ok Taecyeon promised to share his life with the person he has dated for a long time. The wedding will be held privately next spring in a location in Seoul with only both families, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance." Accordingly, Ok Taecyeon is expected to hold the ceremony in April.
After announcing the marriage, Ok Taecyeon also referred to his fiancée directly in public. At the '2025 KBS Drama Awards' held on Dec. 31 last year, Ok Taecyeon, who won the excellence award for a male in the miniseries category for The First Night With the Duke, mentioned his fiancée's name in his acceptance speech.
At the time, Ok Taecyeon said, "As 2PM, we have received many awards, but this is my first time receiving an award for acting, so I had no expectations. I am very surprised and nervous. This work became a precious opportunity to discover a new side of my acting and to reflect on myself. I will continue to strive and develop as an actor," expressing gratitude to his parents watching at home, 2PM members and fans, and added, "Finally, I want to sincerely thank my fiancée. I love you, Ji-hye!" which surprised viewers watching the live broadcast.
After a long public relationship, Ok Taecyeon is finally lighting the wedding candles. He will become 2PM's second married man following Hwang Chan-sung, who married in 2022. Attention will focus even more on Ok Taecyeon's career as an actor after his marriage.
