Huh Ga-yoon, a former member of the girl group 4Minute who appeared on 'You Quiz on the Block,' said she suffered from bulimia after the group disbanded.
On the 25th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereinafter 'You Quiz'), Huh Ga-yoon, who is living a new life in Bali, appeared. Huh Ga-yoon, whose healthily tanned skin shone under the sunlight, said, "Everyone says my face looks better."
Before she left for Bali, her physical condition had worsened because of various things. 4Minute, whose every album had been a topic of conversation since their debut thanks to groundbreaking concepts and solid skills, went through the process of disbanding after their contracts ended.
She said, "They were just asking, but since I really wasn't doing anything, it felt awkward to say anything," and added, "When I met seniors they always told me to endure. But my throat was greatly damaged. It started with insomnia, and because I was awake for long periods I thought my appetite was increasing," saying she suffered from bulimia for seven years. Afterwards Huh Ga-yoon attempted to switch to acting but ultimately did not succeed.
Huh Ga-yoon said, "I never thought about wanting to buy something at a convenience store. But with bulimia I cleared out lunch boxes, bread, sandwiches—everything I could find. I went around convenience stores and swept them clean. It's different from a sudden burst of appetite. Even when I'm not hungry my hands shake and I can't feel fullness. I stop because I feel like my stomach will burst. I stop because my stomach skin hurts," saying she eventually recognized her situation and visited a psychiatrist, who said obsessive-compulsive, controlling tendencies had led to her bulimia.
