Announcer Park Cheol-gyu shared his feelings on the birth of his daughter.
On the 25th broadcast of KBS 1TV's "Morning Yard," Park Cheol-gyu, who had been absent the previous day, appeared and teamed up with announcer Eom Ji-in.
That day Park Cheol-gyu opened by saying, "You were surprised I wasn't on yesterday, right?" and Eom Ji-in said, "Congratulations. Park Cheol-gyu, who became a father. I missed you after not seeing you for a day."
On the previous day's broadcast of "Morning Yard," in which Park Cheol-gyu was absent due to his wife's childbirth, announcer Lee Jae-seong filled in for him. Eom Ji-in said, "Were you all surprised? My seat next to me changed," and added, "Those who are quick to notice probably knew, but Park Cheol-gyu became a father last night. I heard he had a pretty daughter. So Lee Jae-seong joined us."
Announcer Lee Jae-seong also said, "Good morning, it's been a while since I greeted you. I was packing because I'm moving, and last night the Director General contacted me urgently. He said Park Cheol-gyu had a smooth delivery and would be absent, and asked if I could come in this morning. I rushed over with a heart full of congratulations."
Returning to "Morning Yard" after one day, Park Cheol-gyu said, "Thanks to everyone's interest and love, my wife had a smooth delivery and our daughter arrived safely on this planet," adding, "She was born weighing 3.18kg. Now we start naming her and raising the child."
Hearing this, Eom Ji-in asked, "Who does she look like?" and Park Cheol-gyu replied, "I don't know yet." He added, "Now that I'm even more of a head of household, I will try to stand before you with a sense of responsibility," expressing his feelings.
Meanwhile, Park Cheol-gyu joined KBS as part of its 50th announcer class in 2023 and has appeared in a variety of programs across news, entertainment and cultural shows.
