Today (25th) at 8 p.m., TV CHOSUN's PerfecT 'Perfect Life' will feature actor Shin Choong-sik, known as 'Jong-gi's father' from the drama "Country Diary," sharing a touching twilight life he spent with his wife.
Having recently suffered a decline in health but safely recovered and looking healthy, Shin Choong-sik goes out to have family photos taken with his wife. Shin Choong-sik said, "It's the first time we've had our picture taken just the two of us," holding his wife's hand tightly and looking at each other, leaving couple photos in a loving manner that added warmth.
The couple also had longevity photos taken. Shin Choong-sik said, "They say if you take longevity photos you will live a long time," explaining the reason for the shoot. Watching her husband's photo session, the wife said, "Even though a lot of time has passed, you're still handsome," showing unchanged affection even in their 57th year of marriage. Shin Choong-sik said, "Later, when I am gone, won't they hang this photo at the funeral? When I think about that, my heart feels strange," sharing his honest thoughts and moving viewers.
Afterward, he handed over a letter he had written himself for his wife and carefully revealed thoughts he had kept in his heart. Shin Choong-sik said, "Now that it's twilight, I felt I should 'end things well.' I wrote you a letter last night," and began to read the letter. As soon as Shin Choong-sik began with "Dear...," he choked up, unable to continue, then cleared his throat and resumed reciting the letter.
Receiving her husband's letter full of affection, the wife tearfully replied, "You've worked so hard all this time," touching viewers. In the studio, MC Oh Jiho and comedian Lee Seong-mi had reddened eyes when they saw it, and Shin Choong-sik also showed tears once more.
