The group IVE is powerfully drawing fans around the world into a "black hole" as soon as they made their comeback.
According to Starship Entertainment, the title track "BLACKHOLE" from IVE's second full-length album REVIVE+ (Revive Plus), released on the 23rd, ranked No. 1 on YouTube music video trending worldwide as of 1 p.m. on the 24th. It also proved its global popularity by ranking No. 1 in nine countries/regions, including Russia, France and Canada, and placing in the top 10 in 23 countries/regions, including Korea.
The released music video used a space close to "nothingness," where everything had disappeared, as its background and unfolded a cyclical narrative in which the end becomes the beginning with sensuous visuals.
In particular, this music video featured a mega crew of 80 people filling the stadium to complete an overwhelming scale. While IVE had previously developed narratives centered on the "I," through "BLACKHOLE" they completed the "we" with the individual lights gathered together, and the diverse performance arrangements maximized the song's energy and increased immersion.
It also has received praise from the global fandom by delivering IVE's hopeful message once again with the lyric "anything will come true if you want it."
IVE's performance on iTunes is also exceptional. As of 1 p.m. on the 24th, Revive Plus entered the iTunes top albums chart in 24 countries/regions. In particular, it swept No. 1 on K-pop top albums charts in 15 regions and secured positions on album charts in 25 countries/regions, demonstrating strong momentum. Also, "BLACKHOLE" entered the top song charts in nine countries/regions and succeeded in charting on K-pop top song charts in a total of 20 countries/regions. With this, IVE has proven its global influence by occupying charts in a total of 30 countries/regions worldwide when combining album and song rankings.
