The first teaser video for KBS 2TV's new miniseries "Simu-myeon Yeonriri," which previewed Park Sung-woong's forced return-to-farming story, has been released.
The new KBS 2TV miniseries "Simu-myeon Yeonriri," directed by Choi Yeon-su and written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji, scheduled to air at 9:50 p.m. on March 26, is a chaotic family reboot healing drama about a bona fide city family, Seong Tae-hoon and his household, who are abruptly dropped into the pristine yet fierce(?) area of "Yeonriri" and struggle to return to Seoul.
In the drama, Park Sung-woong plays Seong Tae-hoon, the K-family head who rose to a corporate Director General position on the strength of his ability but was suddenly reassigned and moved with his family to the rural "Yeonriri." Seong Tae-hoon's transformation as he leaves the city and seeks true happiness in nature is expected to deliver harmless laughter to viewers.
The first teaser video released today (the 24th) begins with a close-up of a man's black dress shoes trudging along. The protagonist is Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong). Arriving at a field carrying black bags in both hands, he elicits laughs by bewilderedly saying, "Why am I here?" Placing his bag on the dirt and looking out over the wide field, Park Sung-woong's first steps into rural life as the city man Seong Tae-hoon draw attention.
In front of a rusty, worn container, dressed in a black suit that clashes with the field, Seong Tae-hoon tries the door handle but it doesn't open easily. A narration follows: "I signed off thinking they'd change my image, but this is the first time I've buried cabbage instead of people," hinting that the identity of the 'one guy who digs' is cabbage and arousing curiosity about the incidents taking place in the pristine yet fierce(?) area of "Yeonriri."
Seong Tae-hoon, a corporate Director General placed into an unannounced rural vacation (촌캉스?), is played by Park Sung-woong, whose intense gaze commands attention by itself; viewers' expectations are rising for Park Sung-woong's brand of forced return-to-farming story as he instantly becomes a farmer.
Meanwhile, "Simu-myeon Yeonriri" is directed by Choi Yeon-su, who co-directed "Pump Up the Healthy Love," "Crazy Love" and "The Manifesto," and brings together writer Song Jeong-rim, who penned "My Merry Marriage" and "The Bride of the Typhoon," and writer Wang Hye-ji, who wrote "Romance without Love." Actor Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung play a married couple, generating buzz as a reliable pairing.
