Cho PD's ambitious project ChoCo One x ChoCo Two unveiled.
On the 24th in the afternoon, a showcase celebrating the release of Cho PD's first family project "ChoCo La Familia" was held at the Shocking K-Pop Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
ChoCo members Yechahn, Taejo, Anpan and Yoonji announce the start of a new journey with the release of "ChoCo La Familia." ChoCo1 Yechahn and Taejo and ChoCo2 Anpan and Yoonji joined forces for this long-awaited album, which is Cho PD's first family album produced under ChoCo Entertainment and signals a full-scale leap toward the global market.
"ChoCo La Familia" is rooted in hip-hop but focuses more on attitude than formal genre rules and more on self-awareness than flashy packaging. Through this project, the four members will express themselves most honestly and fully show their "true selves."
That day Yechahn greeted, "Born to hip-hop, ChoCo1 Yechahn. I have prepared for a long time, so I will work hard," and Taejo said, "I still have many shortcomings, but I will become a growing Kim Taejo," expressing his determination. Anpan said, "I'm the human energy bar, energizer Anpan. I'm really nervous about the showcase, but please look forward to the first family album. Thank you," and Yoonji said, "Hello. I'm Yoonji of the sweet ChoCo vocal cords. I will do my best to show you my best side."
The members who participated directly in the song production said they did not hide their emotions and thoughts on this album and revealed themselves 100%. Each track contains an answer to the question "what kind of being am I now?" About the album, Yechahn said, "There are units within ChoCo Entertainment. Among the male and female trainees, the core members are called ChoCo One and ChoCo Two," explaining that it is a joint project bringing together the two units.
When asked whether they learned anything from each other while preparing their parts of the album, the members each mentioned and praised one another. First, Yechahn mentioned Anpan and said, "Now that he's an energizer, his strength and what I can learn is that he brings a good condition no matter the day or his condition." Next, Taejo said about Yoonji, "Her leadership is strong; I'm the youngest, but learning this kind of leadership made me think I'll put it to use later," and Anpan said, "Yechahn oppa has great expressions and voice on stage. I'm learning those aspects."
The title track "GIMME" is notable for its playful energy and elastic rhythm. Dynamic vocals blend over a lively bouncing beat, and an instantly memorable chorus firmly anchors the song.
The other title track "FRENZY" is a track that combines global pop, hip-hop and Jersey club EDM elements. Repetitive hooks and heavy bass form the core, while restrained melodies bring the rhythm to the forefront, emphasizing swagger, confidence and attitude. As a double title track, it is expected to capture fans worldwide with its contrasting charms.
Unlike the male members who participated in last year's "Boys Planet," Yoonji is meeting reporters and fans for the first time. Yoonji added, "After you enjoy the two intense title tracks, I would appreciate it if you listen to my solo song."
This album includes the two title songs "GIMME" and "FRENZY," which bring together ChoCo One x ChoCo Two, along with solo songs by ChoCo Two members Yoonji and Anpan. Additionally, ChoCo One members' recorded song "On The Street" is included as the final track.
Cho PD, the head of the agency, also attended the showcase. When Cho PD's name was mentioned, he stood up and greeted the press himself. As questions related to Cho PD naturally followed, the members mentioned his advice, saying, "Debuting was difficult, but he told us to focus on the present and succeeding now, which helped us reach this point."
When asked about memorable episodes while continuing to work with Cho PD, Yechahn explained, "The CEO was a first-generation rapper, so he gave a lot of rap feedback. He gave a lot of feedback on rap skills, and I think I felt it directly while receiving it. I felt that it's different from my old rap, and while working on the family album we communicated a lot, so I felt the family album developed in detail."
As this project proceeded as a mixed-gender group, it inevitably recalled ALLDAY PROJECT, which debuted last year. In response, Yechahn said, "The family album has been planned for a long time. In our case, we respect the ALLDAY PROJECT seniors. There is so much to learn from them, and they are truly admirable seniors." He added on the strengths unique to ChoCo One and ChoCo Two, "Our strengths are that we are young and that we participate in writing and composing."
Meanwhile, Cho PD's first family project "ChoCo La Familia" will be released today (the 24th) at 6 p.m.
