When rumors spread that the gopchang restaurant run by DJ DOC's Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jae-yong had been suspended from operation, they clarified that it was "clearly false information, not true."
On the 24th, DJ DOC's side said, "Recently, through some sensational tow-truck-like YouTube channels, online communities and short-form platforms, false claims that 'Yeonsinnae Brother Gopchang received a two-month business suspension' are being recklessly spread. We want to make this clear," adding, "Yeonsinnae Brother Gopchang has never received any administrative penalties such as a business suspension even once, and is currently operating normally. The online claims about a 'two-month business suspension' are completely false information."
They went on, "The spread of baseless fake news and distorted information is a very serious matter that directly threatens the livelihoods not only of customers who trust and visit our restaurant but also of employees who work diligently at the restaurant and our business partners," and emphasized, "We have determined that this matter cannot be taken lightly, and have retained legal counsel to begin legal action for the dissemination of false information and defamation. Going forward, we will use all legal means available to hold accountable those who spread unverified false information and engage in malicious defamation until the end."
Recently, Kim Gyuri announced on social media that she visited a gopchang restaurant in Seoul and held a meeting with subscribers of her personal YouTube channel "Kim Gyuri tv Mobsi".
This gopchang restaurant is run by DJ DOC's Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jae-yong, and Kim Gyuri uploaded a video of about 20 minutes to her personal channel saying, "With DJ DOC! I met Mobsi subscribers~." In addition, short videos titled "surprise concert at OO gopchang" showed the three—DJ DOC and Kim Gyuri—joyfully singing "Run To You" at the restaurant.
However, some internet users who saw the video reported Lee Ha-neul's gopchang restaurant to the district office, saying it violated the Food Sanitation Act, and Lee Ha-neul, during a personal live stream on social media, expressed his grievance, saying, "They took that one scene and the other side's people who, when they see Kim Gyuri and me (since our political leanings differ), want to kill us, made a ton of reports. Kim Gyuri, excited after singing a song, danced, and they reported that one scene. It's not illegal operation, nor is that our regular business model, yet the district office came out to inspect."
In Lee Ha-neul's case it was an impromptu event held as fan service, but some internet users reported DJ DOC's gopchang restaurant to the district office for violating the Food Sanitation Act.
According to Korea's Food Sanitation Act, general restaurants must not have sound systems and allow customers to sing or dance. If the regulation is violated, it is known that the first offense results in a one-month business suspension, the second offense a two-month business suspension, and the third offense leads to revocation of the business license or closure of the establishment.
