The virtual girl group OWIS has set its debut for March 23.
OWIS (Serin·Haru·Summer·Soi·Yuni) revealed the members' visuals in a trailer video and webtoon-style format at 12 a.m. on the 24th via its official social media accounts.
The debut trailer begins with a voice inviting viewers to the "museum of memories." "Old memories need to be整理" narrated as real-world props transformed into dreamlike objects, and the virtual and real kept intersecting. It then conveyed a message about dreams and the self with the phrase "I am your lost piece," completing an atmosphere like an art film.
The accompanying webtoon captured the members' visuals and daily lives. From scenes running across green meadows to friendly moments of gathering in school uniforms in front of the practice room mirror to take selfies, various moments unfolded.
In particular, a gigantic door poured forth mysterious light under the night sky and opened, revealing a refreshing sky beyond, where OWIS stood — a sight that drew attention. It ended with the phrase "standing on the sky we will meet again" and a scene of them leaning on each other and sleeping, stimulating fans' imaginations. Expectations are growing for what content they will use to unfold their universe.
OWIS is the first artist of the new entertainment company ama (all my anecdotes), founded by creative director Lee Hae-in, chief creative officer, and former Warner Music Korea executive Kim Jae-yi, chief executive officer. The team name is an acronym for "Only When I Sleep," conveying the meaning "can only be met in dreams." They are expected to open a new horizon in the virtual idol market with a coming-of-age story of girls searching for lost dreams.
OWIS's debut promotion schedule will be announced later via its official social media accounts.
