Actor An Jaewook honestly shared anecdotes related to alcohol on Zzanbro, and past drunk-driving controversies are being reexamined.
On the 23rd, the YouTube content Zzanbro EP.133, featuring Lee Jae-ryong, Yoon Da-hoon, Sung Ji-ru and An Jaewook, continued a drinking-table talk.
That day An Jaewook said, "Alcohol itself is not the purpose. It is only a tool to make people smile brightly and create a pleasant atmosphere," and said, "I nag Jiru hyung to drink with a smile."
But his family's reactions were different. He said, "My daughter asked where I was going today, and when I said I was going to have a drink with the uncles after filming, she nagged me again, asking if it was alcohol," and added, "My son said, 'Dad is an actor, so just pretend to drink and come back,'" which drew laughter. He went on, "Hearing the kids, I think I shouldn't drink today, but that remark makes me so pleased that I have one more drink."
When Shin Dong-yeob asked, "Have you ever blacked out?" An Jaewook replied, "Sometimes? No, a lot," and Sung Ji-ru chimed in, "Seeing Jaewook black out makes me blackout too," turning the set into a sea of laughter.
However, as these remarks circulated, past drunk-driving controversies were also mentioned again. An Jaewook had his license suspended in 2019 for drunk driving and stepped down from the musical and broadcasts he was appearing in. At the time he said he spent time in self-reflection, saying, "When my income stopped, it felt like a dam burst."
Drunk driving is not merely an individual mistake but a serious crime that can threaten others' lives, so continued vigilance is required. Online responses included, "As the kids said, restraint is needed even at drinking gatherings," and "This is not something to laugh off," along with criticism that "Honest confessions are good, but having atoned, he should be more careful on broadcasts."
