Actor An Jaewook candidly shared anecdotes related to alcohol on Zzanbro, and past drunk driving controversies are being reexamined.
On the 23rd, the YouTube content Zzanbro EP.133, which was released that day, featured Lee Jae-ryong, Yoon Da-hoon, Sung Ji-ru and An Jaewook continuing a drinking table talk.
That day An Jaewook said, "Drinking itself is not the purpose. It's just a tool to make people laugh brightly and create a pleasant atmosphere," and he said, "I nag Jiru to drink with a smile, too."
But his family's reaction was different. He said, "My daughter asked where I was going today, and when I said I would have a drink with the uncles after filming, she lectured me again, saying, 'Again with the drinking?'" and he said, "My son said, 'Dad is an actor, so just act like you're drinking and come back.'" which drew laughter. He added, "Hearing the kids, I think I shouldn't drink today, but their words make me so pleased that I end up having another drink."
When Shin Dong-yeob asked, "Have you ever blacked out?" An Jaewook answered, "Sometimes? No, I black out a lot," and Sung Ji-ru added, "Seeing Jaewook black out makes me black out too," which turned the set into a sea of laughter.
However, as these remarks were reported, past drunk driving controversies have been mentioned again. An Jaewook had his license suspended in 2019 for drunk driving and stepped down from the musical and broadcasts he was appearing in. At the time he said he spent a period in self-reflection, saying, "When my income stopped, it felt like a dam burst."
Drunk driving is not a matter that ends as an individual mistake but a serious crime that can threaten others' lives, so constant vigilance is required. Online responses have included, "Like the children said, restraint is needed even at drinking gatherings," and "This is not something to laugh off," along with criticism that "Honest confessions are good, but since he already served a period of self-reflection, he should be more careful on broadcasts."
