The following is the full official statement from Galaxy Corporation regarding the complaint against malicious post authors targeting G-Dragon.
Hello. This is Galaxy Corporation.
We are continuing strong legal action in cooperation with law firm YulChon regarding malicious posts such as defamation, spreading false information, malicious slander and infringement of personality rights against our artist G-DRAGON (hereinafter the "artist"). We provide the current status of proceedings to date.
Following the previous notice on rights infringement response (Oct. 17), based on evidence collected through fans' reports and our own monitoring, we have filed large-scale complaints against more than 100 authors of malicious posts on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation).
Investigative authorities identified multiple suspects through search and seizure operations targeting major online communities and SNS platforms such as Nate Pann, Naver, DC Inside, Theqoo and X (formerly Twitter), and those suspects have been transferred to the police stations with jurisdiction over their addresses, where investigations are ongoing.
At present, some suspects have acknowledged the charges, investigations of the accused have been completed and they have been sent to the prosecution, and we are awaiting the disposition results. Active investigations are continuing at the police stage for suspects who deny the charges.
However, as the matter is currently at the prosecution transfer stage, please understand that information that could identify suspects cannot be disclosed due to the Personal Information Protection Act and investigative procedures. We are closely cooperating with related agencies for swift and strict handling of this matter and continue to secure evidence of malicious posts posted on various SNS and online platforms. We plan to continue to expand civil and criminal measures sequentially to protect the artist's rights.
We will provide regular updates within the possible scope if there are meaningful developments. Please understand that the identification of suspects and the investigation process may take some time due to investigative procedures.
Galaxy Corporation is conducting continuous monitoring of all expressions referring to the artist, regardless of domestic or international sources, and will fulfill its responsibility to ensure the artist can always operate in a healthy and stable environment.
If fans discover malicious posts, please compile them into a single PDF file so that all items of the post (URL, posting date, poster ID or nickname, infringement content, capture date, etc.) can be clearly confirmed and send it to the report email. This will be used as important evidence in related legal proceedings.
We deeply appreciate fans' continued interest and cooperation for the artist, and in 2026 we will continue to do our best to protect the rights of our artists.
Thank you.
