In the second episode of MBC variety show '1st Place,' which aired on the 22nd, the lineup round was depicted amid full-fledged competition.
Park Jimin, who finished in 8th place in last week's exploratory round, said before the lineup round competition that "I came in second. From the back. I really didn't like it, and now I'm determined to show them. There's nowhere left to fall" as she fired up her competitive spirit.
In the first stage, Park Chang-geun took first place, and Park Jimin chose to sing Woodz's 'Drowning.'
So far Park Jimin had shown outstanding vocal ability and a unique charm. But was she nervous on this stage as well? Park Jimin showed wavering from the very first pitch and ended disappointingly.
After finishing the stage, Park Jimin admitted, "I messed up this stage. I let out the first note, and the pitch wavered." Baek Z Young then encouraged her, saying, "Still, it's amazing she finished until the end."
Failing to take first place, Park Jimin said, "Even if the ranking is low, I had to accept it. I must not be truly embarrassing on the next stage." However, Park Jimin's rank continued to fall in subsequent stages.
Heo Gak, who had held first place consistently, became second after Kim Ki-tae took the final first place. Meanwhile, Park Jimin finished in 9th place out of nine singers, the lowest rank, and failed to advance to the next round's head-to-head match.<
