Park Minyoung mentioned the efforts she made for "Siren".
On the 23rd, a production presentation for the drama "Siren" was held via an online live broadcast. The event was hosted by Park Kyung-rim, and director Kim Cheol-gyu, Park Minyoung, Wi Ha-jun and Kim Junghyun attended.
The new Monday-Tuesday drama "Siren" (directed by Kim Cheol-gyu, creator Jo Hyunkyung, written by Lee Young, produced by Studio Dragon, Kappe E&A) is a drama that depicts a fatal romantic thriller about an irresistibly attractive insurance fraud suspect woman and a man who suspects and digs into the deaths surrounding that woman.
In the drama, the character Han Seol-a is portrayed as someone with a chilling past in which all the men who loved her died. In particular, this is Park Minyoung's return to tvN after the record-breaking hit Marry My Husband, and as a thriller challenge it is receiving a lot of attention.
Park Minyoung explained why she chose "Siren" as her comeback work: Everyone around me keeps teasing me as "tvN's daughter." Not just because it's tvN, but the charm of this work and the thoughts about a work that don't leave you last too long. I was worried it might be too much of a challenge for me. I've never done a genre piece or a deadly role. I worried a lot about whether I could well portray this woman's psychology, she said.
She added, "At first I hesitated, and it was a big challenge for me. So I decided to trust the actor and the director and try. I think you can see traces of my effort in the visible aspects, and the result is something many people helped with, so this will be a very grateful work for me."
Park Minyoung said she tried to match her lifestyle patterns as much as possible to Han Seol-a to embody the character: "This friend doesn't eat. Because so many tragic, sad things happen around her, she doesn't eat and when she comes home there's only water and alcohol. She always shows a professional side outside, but when she's alone she's painfully lonely. She experiences a lot of emptiness. In the end, at home there was only water and alcohol left," she revealed.
She continued, "While filming this work, I think I drank about 3 liters of water a day. Strangely, I kept drinking that much water. After filming ended I completely stopped drinking so much water. Now I'm back to being Park Minyoung. I felt that keeping myself dark was the right choice because I thought I could express Han Seol-a's sleek appearance. I really spent it darkly," she said, drawing attention.
