Actor Lee Ju-seung has suffered the loss of his grandfather.
Lee Ju-seung's grandfather, the late Lee Jong-gyu, passed away on the 22nd. He was 97.
According to the funeral hall at Konkuk University Medical Center in Gwangjin District, Seoul, the room for the bereaved is set up in room 103, and grandson Lee Ju-seung is listed as a chief mourner and is receiving visitors in sorrow.
Born in 1930, the deceased was a national meritorious person who served as an officer in the June 25 War, and after discharge he served as an elementary school teacher.
Earlier, Lee Ju-seung visited his grandparents' home on the Feb. 2024 broadcast of MBC I Live Alone and showed a special affection. At the time, Lee Ju-seung shared memories of spending his kindergarten and elementary school years at his grandfather's house.
On the program, the late Lee Jong-gyu revealed an anecdote about paying sponsorship and school fees on behalf of students who were financially struggling during his time as a teacher, which moved viewers. It was also revealed that former students have continued to call to check on him even decades after graduation, drawing attention.
In response, Lee Ju-seung expressed deep respect as he recalled his grandfather's life.
The funeral procession will be at 9:10 a.m. on the 24th, and the burial site is Seoul Memorial Park.<
