Comedian Heo Kyunghwan expressed anxiety over the still unclear decision about his permanent role on "You Quiz."
On the 23rd, a video titled "The real daily life of Heo Kyunghwan that wasn't shown on broadcast... curious? (with. Kim Young-chul hyung & Lee Dong-gun hyung)" was uploaded to the "If you're curious, Heo Kyunghwan" channel.
That day Heo Kyunghwan met Kim Young-chul and they ate together. Kim Young-chul, who held the camera, greeted, "Surprised? These days I'm appearing as a scene-stealer on someone else's YouTube, stealing the remaining parts—I'm Kim Young-chul," then said, "Today I really wanted to take Kyunghwan to the sushi restaurant I wanted to go to; two seats opened so I'm buying Kyunghwan a meal. Everyone, just know this. These are people who met regardless of our 'You Quiz'."
Heo Kyunghwan said, "We had been meeting originally and then we ended up doing 'You Quiz'," and Kim Young-chul mentioned the "national MC interview," saying, "The important thing is I went without caring about any of that, but comments said, 'Is Kim Young-chul auditioning too?'" Previously, Jo Se-ho, who co-hosted with Yu Jae-seok as the second MC, had stepped away amid private life allegations, and attention has poured in on who will fill that vacancy. When news of Heo Kyunghwan's appearance on "You Quiz" was revealed in December last year, viewers reacted by calling it a "national interview."
Later, Kim Young-chul, who also appeared on "You Quiz," unexpectedly responded, "They said it was an interview for me too," and Heo Kyunghwan vented his frustration, saying, "Why aren't they announcing it there? Why aren't they announcing it?" which drew laughter.
Then Kim Young-chul asked, "What if I become ('You Quiz' MC)?" and Heo Kyunghwan said, "I'll accept you up to senior." Kim Young-chul said, "I thought about this. Let's think bigger. Kyunghwan, I'd be so happy if you joined 'You Quiz.' But wouldn't it be too strange even if I became it in this situation?" He suggested, "How about the three of us—Kyunghwan, you, me—and Jae-seok hyung doing something together?" Heo Kyunghwan said honestly, "I like it a lot, but I think three would be difficult."
At that moment Kim Young-chul posed the question, "'You Quiz' new MC: Kim Young-chul vs. Heo Kyunghwan," and Heo Kyunghwan retorted, "Are you being greedy?" which added to the laughter.
After the meal the two immediately moved seats and continued the 'You Quiz' conversation. Kim Young-chul said, "Everyone, I'll say it once again: we didn't meet because of our 'You Quiz,'" adding, "Should we ask them for an answer? If both producers of 'You Quiz' don't intend to use us, then we can just not post on Instagram, not do interviews, and not mention it, right?"
Heo Kyunghwan said, "Please tell me clearly once," and confessed, "(If they say they don't intend to use us) I'll be disappointed," and Kim Young-chul added, "I'll really be waiting for their contact," a subtle appeal that provoked laughter.
