Model and actor Kim Won-joong proved he is a singular icon in the fashion world.
He graced the special cover of fashion magazine Arena Homme Plus for its 20th anniversary project. This pictorial is a large-scale project featuring 20 male models symbolizing the history of fashion in Korea on the occasion of Arena's 20th anniversary.
In the published cover, Kim Won-joong captivates with his distinctive attractive features and a gaze that looks somehow secretive and dangerous. Having perfectly pulled off looks that highlight a calm and sober color palette, he expressed classical elegance and modern sensibility at the same time through relaxed tailoring and sophisticated layering.
According to insiders, Kim Won-joong drew gasps from the on-site staff by exuding an instinctive pose and an overwhelming aura that filled the frame without any special technique. In particular, his expressive power as a model, which brings out the details of garments, was said to have once again made people feel the apt description of him as a "model of models."
Kim Won-joong has recently expanded his scope beyond his main profession as a fashion model to be active across popular culture.
On the Netflix entertainment show "Closet Battle 2," he worked with broadcaster Kim Na-young and, drawing on the professional knowledge he has built as a fashion model, brand designer, and fashion entrepreneur, delivered timely, witty remarks that caught viewers' attention. Demonstrating a sincere attitude toward fashion and pleasant hosting skills, he earned a solid passing grade as a variety show MC.
As an actor, he took on the role of the secretive and seductive character "Habibi" in the final episode of the tvN drama Love in the Big City, showing steady acting skills and a powerful ability to inhabit a character.
His agency, All Company, said, "Based on deep insight and authenticity about fashion, Kim Won-joong is building his own singular identity across fields including modeling, design, broadcasting and acting," and added, "He will continue to be active as an all-weather artist who is not confined by genre or boundaries, so please look forward to and support him."
