Actor Han Jimin is drawing attention again by recounting an unbelievable family behind-the-scenes story that she was ranked last in appearance.
Recently appearing on the YouTube channel "Yojung Jaehyung," Han Jimin recalled her school days and said, "I wasn't known for being pretty. My sister was more famous in the neighborhood." She added with a laugh, "I was known as 'Han Sang-min's younger sister,' and even as a strict younger sister." She also recounted episodes in which she would answer calls meant for her sister and cut them off saying, "This isn't a time to be calling late at night," or act as a "self-monitoring squad" by contacting friends one by one to check their return times.
Han Jimin said, "My sister had many friends and was very popular. My mother is the type who hardly nags, so I did the nagging instead," adding, "I don't know why I did that when I think about it now. My sister was a college student even then," which sent the set into laughter.
A photo of her biological older sister that was actually released drew attention for her features and presence comparable to Han Jimin. Among people in the entertainment industry, there were even remarks like "I thought the sister would debut." It was explained, however, that the sister felt uncomfortable in front of the camera, so Han Jimin naturally began acting. Han Jimin said, "My sister likes socializing and is lively, but she gets very nervous in front of the camera. I was relatively less uncomfortable."
It was also mentioned again that the whole family is regarded as a "good-looking family." Han Jimin revealed on a past broadcast, "When my mother, my sister and I go out together, people say my mother is the prettiest," surprising viewers. She said that an advertising agency once offered her mother the role of actress Lee Young-ae's mother, but her mother declined because she was very shy. She explained that her mother even trembles when taking family photos.
Earlier, Han Jimin posted on social media "My best friend. #sister" along with a sister selfie, drawing reactions that their beauty was "hard to rank." Also, when a family photo was revealed after she said on a 2018 variety show, "At home I'm last in appearance ranking," the cast's acceptance of that comment is being revisited.
