K content "Lee Seob's romance" and "Casual lie," which share the same universe and have secured a strong fan base at home and abroad, will be adapted into live-action starring Lee Jong-suk and Lee Jun-hyuk.
"Lee Seob's romance" and "Casual lie" are popular full-length novels by writer Kim Eon-hee that began as web novels. The books were published as standalone volumes and have already gained global popularity and critical recognition. The original works contain the narratives of different protagonists within the same universe, so the live-action series will also continue that interconnectedness both separately and together.
"Lee Seob's romance" is an over-the-top office romance between Tae I-seob, who wants to do nothing, and Kang Min-gyeong, who must somehow get things done. It depicts the romance between Tae I-seob, a chaebol third-generation protagonist who is perfect at everything except love, and Kang Min-gyeong, known as TK Group's secret weapon and the perfect protagonist. "Casual lie" is a romance about Tae Jun-seob, the grandson of TK Group chairman Tae Si-hwan, counted as the perfect man of the chaebol family, and copywriter Yeon Woo-kyung, who appears before him and becomes embroiled in the TK Group succession battle.
Lee Jong-suk and Lee Jun-hyuk will be the protagonists of each series. The background shared by the two works, TK Group, and the cousin relationship between Tae I-seob and Tae Jun-seob connect the universes. The linkage between the two works can be found in each series as well. The two actors, who have built a track record of must-watch works across genres, are raising expectations to the maximum by promising an office romance in each series and a bromance that pits them against each other over the succession.
Series production will be handled jointly by Bon Factory, which has produced numerous romance works such as "Lovely Runner" and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," Ace Factory, which produced the "Stranger" series, and A-Man Media. Because the two works' universes are connected, the series aim to be produced simultaneously and are scheduled to begin production within the year.
