The group's XG chief producer Jaekops (JAKOPS, SIMON JUNHO PARK) was arrested in Japan on suspicion of possessing drugs.
On the 23rd, multiple Japanese media outlets including Kyodo News reported that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested Jaekops and three others that day on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Law (common possession) for possessing cocaine.
According to investigative sources, the four are accused of possessing several grams of cocaine at a hotel in Aichi Prefecture at around 12:20 a.m. on the 23rd.
According to reports, the drug and firearm countermeasures division received information that the suspects were using cocaine and other drugs and searched the suspects' rooms at the hotel where they were staying on the 22nd. Cocaine and dried marijuana were reportedly seized from the rooms.
In this regard, the agency XGALX said it is "checking the current situation."
Jaekops debuted in 2009 by participating in a track on MC MONG's fifth album, and in 2012 he joined the boy group Dalmatian and was active in Korea. He began working as a producer in 2014, founded XGALX in 2017, and debuted the global girl group XG in 2022.
